A recent study found another benefit of the Mediterranean Diet. A group of women was asked to spend 10 days eating their normal diet. This was compared to 10 days eating a diet low in red meat, butter, sugar caffeine and alcohol and high in vegetables, legumes, whole grains and healthy fat. During the time on the Mediterranean diet the participants reported feeling “significantly more alert and content”. Fatigue and brain fog are common complaints among our patients. This study shows that small changes could be the answer.
