Doctors Brenna Murphy and Elizabeth Cantrell both received their naturopathic medical degree from Bastyr University in Seattle Washington, the world’s leading center for natural medicine education.

Both also completed their clinical training at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, the largest natural health clinic in the Northwest. While there, they bonded over their longing for sweet tea, and their desire to bring their knowledge of simple ways to be healthier back home. After graduation they reconnected and began planning their clinic.

The creation on ELEMENTS Alternative Health Solutions has fulfilled their goal of bringing high quality natural medicine to the south in an affordable, understanding way. Doctors Murphy and Cantrell are excited to be helping the folks back home make health choices that allow them to live the life they want to live.

Elizabeth Cantrell, N.D.

Elizabeth’s passion for medicine began at a very early age. Having been raised in the southeast, she is pleased to bring her training in naturopathic medicine back to the area.

While completing her training, Dr. Cantrell had the opportunity to provide healthcare to a variety of populations from infants to the elderly. In addition to her required clinical rotations she trained on advanced specialty clinical rotations, including providing care for homeless women in the Seattle area, and working in Bastyr Center for Natural Health’s oncology clinic.

Dr. Cantrell’s clinical specialties lie in the areas of diet and lifestyle counseling, complementary cancer care, cleansing, and nutritional medicine. She has been featured in natural health newsletters, the Columbus Ledger Enquirer newspaper, television shows in Georgia and Alabama, and on radio shows throughout the country. She holds a medical license in family practice in the state of Washington.

Dr. Cantrell received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Columbus State University in 2000. Outside of practicing natural medicine she enjoys spending time with her family, playing soccer and golf, watching baseball, riding her road and mountain bikes, and gardening.

Brenna Murphy, N.D.

Brenna developed an interest in medicine in High School. She discovered the field of naturopathic medicine by chance, but knew immediately that it was the right fit for her.

Dr. Murphy has worked with a wide variety of patients. During her clinical training she focused on the care of extremely ill individuals. She completed advanced specialty care rotations in HIV and AIDS, and oncology. She also treated many people with chronic neurological diseases.

Dr. Murphy’s clinical specialties include nutritional counseling, complementary ADHD and autism care, hormone balancing, neurological conditions, cleansing, and herbal medicine. She has been seen on T.V. and has been featured in The Citizen newspaper. Dr. Murphy is currently working on a book about Herbal Teas.

Dr. Murphy studied theatre and pre-med at the University of Central Florida. She gets a chance to use her theatre background when she helps the Chattahoochee Shakespeare Company with its productions. She also enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and collecting stamps in her passport.

Amy Rogers, COO

Amy is the pleasant voice on the other end of the phone. Originally from Auburn, AL, Amy Rogers moved to Columbus, GA in 1998 to pursue higher education. She received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and a Masters of Education with a teaching certificate from Columbus State University. After several years of classroom teaching, Amy realized that her true passion is for entrepreneurship. By uniting her interest in health with her passion for business Amy has found the best of both worlds at Elements. She contributes to the education of college students by teaching in the field of health and physical education at both Columbus State University and Southern Union Community College. In her spare time Amy enjoys watching sports, being outdoors, grilling, and fishing.

Jonathan Powell , N.D.

Jonathan’s interest in the natural world began at a young age, leading him to pursue a degree in biology as an undergraduate. Planning to attend medical school, it was while working as a genetic research technician that he discovered naturopathic medicine. Realizing that this field of medicine had much to offer, but fewer practitioners than traditional medicine, he shifted gears and began his naturopathic career.

Completing his training in Arizona at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Powell had the opportunity to work with different cultures and all age groups. He is currently practicing as a resident with Dr.’s Cantrell and Murphy. Focusing on family medicine, he is interested in nutritional therapies, homeopathy, and hormonal balancing.

Dr. Powell received his undergraduate degree in biology with an emphasis in microbiology from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee in 1991. He is currently an adjunct instructor at Southern Union State Community College in Opelika, Alabama. Having spent time in the desert southwest, he is glad to be back in the south and currently enjoys camping, jogging and hiking, and cooking in his spare time.
